Materials & Certifications

For a retailer, materials are more than a story — they are what customers feel, wash and come back for. This page explains what Moalie works with, and which standards sit behind it.

Merino wool

Close-up of Moalie merino wool knitwear

Fine merino wool is the heart of the collection: breathable, temperature-regulating and naturally moisture-managing, soft against delicate skin. It is used across hats, booties, knitwear, snuggles, sleeping bags and blankets — pieces made for daily use, in every season.

Merino & cashmere

Selected pieces are knitted from a blend of 90% merino wool and 10% cashmere — lighter and softer still, with a refined handfeel that suits premium boutiques.

Other natural fibres

Some styles combine merino with bamboo and a touch of stretch for everyday comfort and easy dressing. Where cotton is used, selected items are made with GOTS-certified cotton.

Certifications & standards

  • Mulesing-free — all wool is sourced from farms that do not practise mulesing.
  • OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 — the wool fibres we use are OEKO-TEX® certified. To be precise: this certification applies to the wool fibre itself; not every finished garment carries its own separate certificate. We would rather be exact about this than make claims we cannot back up.
  • Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) — certificate number CU1029656MUL-2024-00032449, verifiable at TextileExchange.org.

Production

Moalie works with a specialised manufacturer experienced in premium baby textiles. For retailers, this means consistent quality and transparent documentation — certificates and supporting documents for your market are available on request.
